How can we help?
Ask a question, find an answer, or write to us. We reply in English, French, Spanish and German.

Contact
Write to us.
Members, associations, providers and the press all reach us here. Please do not include your immigration or residence status, document numbers or health details: we never ask for them.
Questions
Twelve questions, answered plainly.
Who can join?
Anyone with a cross-border story. People from anywhere in the world who live in Europe; Europeans who live outside Europe; and their children, families, relatives and friends. All of Europe is covered: the EU, the EEA, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the wider continent.
Is there a fee?
Membership is free for the first 90 days — one membership per adult, with children under 18 included on a parent’s membership. Associations also join at no cost during this period.
Do you ask about my status?
Never. We do not ask for, collect or store immigration or residence status: not on the form, not on the card, not in the chat. Free movement, visa, permit or none of these, the membership is the same.
Is this insurance?
No. Membership is not insurance. Where insurance is part of a benefit, it is offered through licensed providers in your country of residence, under their terms. The Mutual Aid Compact is solidarity between associations; it is not insurance and creates no right to payment.
What does my membership give me?
A digital member card, recognised by every house of the family; twelve areas of benefit, from travel and sending money home to health, banking and repatriation; and a community that stands with you. The guides, Scam Watch, the Consular Desk and free help near you are free to everyone.
I lead an association. How do we join?
Register on the association form on the Community leaders page. Associations join at no cost for their first 90 days, keep their name and independence, bring the benefits to their members, and take a seat in the European network and the Mutual Aid Compact. We write back to every association.
I am moving to another country. What happens to my membership?
It moves with you. One card is recognised across Europe’s forty-plus countries and by every regional house of the family: the Americas, Canada, India, China, Africa, East Asia and West Asia.
What do you do with my personal data?
Personal data is handled under the GDPR, kept to the minimum needed to run your membership, and never sold. You may ask to see, correct or delete it at any time by writing to members@taseurope.org. The privacy notice has the detail.
Which languages do you reply in?
English, French, Spanish and German. Write in whichever you prefer: the reply comes in the same language.
Can you help with my visa, my permit or a legal case?
We do not give legal or immigration advice, and we do not act in individual cases. Our guides explain the general steps and link to the official source; legal and document help means referral to qualified professionals; and Free help near you lists the free services to look for.
Someone contacted me in your name and asked for money. Is it genuine?
No. We will never ask you for money, passwords or one-time codes. Do not pay, and do not follow any link in the message. Write to us at members@taseurope.org, and see Scam Watch.
I need help urgently. Where do I turn?
In immediate danger, call 112. For a lost passport or an arrest, your consulate is the first call: the Consular Desk explains how to reach it. TAS Foundation gives free first help to everyone, member or not.
