Part of the Together and Stronger family

From elsewhere,
at home in Europe.
From Europe,
at home elsewhere.

TAS Europe is the membership organisation for lives that cross a border: people from anywhere in the world who live in Europe, and Europeans who live abroad. One household has no bargaining power. Hundreds of thousands of households, speaking as one, do.

  • Join today — your first 90 days are free
  • Children under 18 are included on a parent’s membership
  • We never ask about your status

Arrivals

Living in Europe

You came from elsewhere, another continent or the country next door, and Europe is where you live now. The EU, the EEA, Switzerland, the United Kingdom or the wider continent; free movement, visa or permit: we serve every case and never ask which is yours.

  • Journeys home, by air and rail

Members travel on programmes we negotiate for the routes families actually take, in summer and at the year’s end.

  • Money home, on fairer terms

We negotiate, as one body, the terms on which our members send money to family.

  • The first formalities, explained

Our guides take you through registering an address, opening an account and finding health cover.

  • Your qualifications, recognised

We guide you to the bodies that recognise diplomas and trades, with language courses alongside.

  • The whole household, covered

Health, dental, vision and pharmacy programmes for the family. Children under 18 are included on a parent’s membership.

  • Never alone at the end

If a member dies far from home, the network stands with the family: repatriation, or a dignified burial.

Departures

Europeans abroad

You are from Europe and you live somewhere else: the Americas, Africa, Asia, the Gulf, Oceania. The card you carry is recognised by every regional house of the Together and Stronger family.

  • One card, every house

The Americas, Canada, India, China, Africa, East Asia and West Asia all recognise the card you carry.

  • The long routes back

Travel programmes for the journey home, and for the parents and friends who visit you.

  • Your affairs in Europe, in order

We guide you through pensions earned in several countries, health cover on visits and documents at a distance.

  • The Consular Desk

How to reach your consulate, renew a passport, register a birth or a marriage abroad. Free to all.

  • Parents and elders at home

Family, education and elder-care programmes for households split across continents.

  • A way back in

When you return, your membership helps you settle again: banking, insurance, qualifications.

Twenty-one reasons to join

  • Stronger communities.
  • Always stronger together.
  • Together we stay strong.
  • Together we stand.
  • Together, we get things done — beautifully.

The size of the community

Europe is already a continent of people from somewhere else.

These are the households we serve. Counted one by one, each pays the price of being small. Counted together, they are the law of large numbers, and that is bargaining power.

Every line of the membership, on one board.

Sixteen lines. Twelve are the areas of everyday life your membership covers. The others are the membership itself, your card, the association network and the services that are free to everyone.

Benefits

Eight of the twelve, in detail.

Your membership covers twelve areas of everyday life: one catalogue, shared by the whole Together and Stronger family and adapted to how people actually live in Europe. These eight matter most on this continent.

  1. Travellers with rucksacks and suitcases crossing the concourse of a large German railway station
    The station concourse

    Travel home & across Europe

    With your member card

The flight home in August, the night train at Christmas, the coach to the next country for work. We negotiate air and rail together, for the routes members actually travel.

  2. A passenger holding a smartphone beside the ticket machine on a tram in Kassel
    Kassel, on the tram

    Sending money home

    With your member card

Money leaves Europe for families on every continent, and arrives from Europeans abroad. We negotiate transfer programmes as one body, so that the terms are set for the many.

  3. An older couple at home on a video call with a younger couple on a laptop
    Sunday call, two countries

    Phone & roaming across borders

    With your member card

A number that works where you live, where you come from and in between. We negotiate mobile, home internet and international calling for households in more than one country.

  4. The entrance of a neighbourhood pharmacy with plants beside the door in the sunlight
    The pharmacy on the corner

    Health, dental & vision

    With your member card

Public cover differs in every European country, and so do the gaps: dental work, glasses, the first months. Household programmes sit alongside free guides to each system.

  5. A bright modern living room with large windows in the morning light
    A new home

    Insurance through licensed providers

    With your member card

Life, final expense, travel, home and motor cover, offered only through licensed providers in the country where you live. Membership itself is not insurance.

  6. Colleagues in suits meeting around a table with laptops
    Around the meeting table

Banking & building credit in a new country

    With your member card

A new country rarely recognises the financial history you built in the last one. Accounts, savings and credit-building programmes serve people who are starting again.

  7. A professional woman holding a binder in a bright office
    At work

Recognition of qualifications, jobs & language courses

    With your member card

A nurse, an electrician or an engineer should not have to start again from nothing. We point to the recognition bodies in each country, with language courses and job support.

  8. The wing of an aircraft above the clouds
    The journey home

    End of life & repatriation

    With your member card

When someone dies far from home, the family faces decisions in two countries at once. We arrange repatriation or a dignified local burial with care, with the community beside them.

Also in the catalogue: pharmacy; legal and document help; everyday savings; family, education and elder care across borders.

All twelve areas of benefit

Moving within Europe

One membership. Forty-plus countries.

In Europe a life rarely stays inside one border: study in one country, work in a second, raise a family in a third, retire in a fourth. Every move restarts the paperwork. Your membership does not restart. The card and the association network travel the line with you.

A white high-speed train standing at a station platform
Platform 7, on time
  1. 01Arrive

    Register your address

In many European countries the first formality is registering where you live; the rest depends on it. Each country guide says where to go and what to bring.

  2. 02Settle

    Open a bank account

Wages, rent and bills run through a local account. Our guide explains what banks ask of a new arrival, and your membership adds banking programmes we negotiate.

  3. 03Work

    Have your qualifications recognised

A diploma or trade earned in one country is not automatically valid in the next. We point you to the recognition body for your profession.

  4. 04Stay well

    Understand your health cover

The EHIC, and the United Kingdom’s GHIC, cover necessary care on temporary stays. They do not replace cover where you live; guides explain each national system.

  5. 05Drive

    Exchange your driving licence

Some licences are recognised as they are; others must be exchanged within a fixed period after you move. The guide gives the rule and the office.

  6. 06Retire

Claim a pension earned in several countries

Within the EU, the EEA and Switzerland, years worked in different countries are not lost: each country pays for the years earned there.

General orientation only. TAS Europe does not give legal, immigration, tax or financial advice; every guide links to the official source.

What we believe

What we believe.

TAS stands for Together and Stronger. The name is also the method: people who live between countries are strong when they stand together, and they are heard when they speak as one.

Colleagues of different backgrounds gathered around a laptop in an open-plan office
Working as one
  • Stronger communities.

A community that negotiates as one stops paying the price of being small.

  • Always stronger together.

Arrivals and departures, old associations and new neighbours: one membership.

  • Together we stay strong.

A move, a border or a change of rules does not end what you belong to.

  • Together we stand.

When a family is struck far from home, nobody faces it alone.

  • Together, we get things done — beautifully.

With care for detail, in plain language, and with respect for everyone we serve.

The calendar of this membership is the calendar of its members: the summer journeys home and the year’s end, Ramadan and Eid, Christmas and Orthodox Easter, Diwali and Lunar New Year.

Questions

Questions, answered plainly.

What does TAS stand for?

Together and Stronger. TAS Europe is the European house of the Together and Stronger family: a membership organisation that negotiates on behalf of its members, for people whose lives cross borders.

Who can join?

Anyone with a cross-border story. People from anywhere in the world who live in Europe; Europeans who live outside Europe; and their children, families, relatives and friends. All of Europe is covered: the EU, the EEA, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the wider continent.

Is there a fee?

Membership is free for the first 90 days — one membership per adult, with children under 18 included on a parent’s membership. Associations also join at no cost during this period.

Do you ask about my status?

Never. We do not ask for, collect or store immigration or residence status: not on the form, not on the card, not in the chat. Free movement, visa, permit or none of these, the membership is the same.

Is this insurance?

No. Membership is not insurance. Where insurance is part of a benefit, it is offered through licensed providers in your country of residence, under their terms. The Mutual Aid Compact is solidarity between associations; it is not insurance and creates no right to payment.

What does my membership give me?

A digital member card, recognised by every house of the family; twelve areas of benefit, from travel and sending money home to health, banking and repatriation; and a community that stands with you. The guides, Scam Watch, the Consular Desk and free help near you are free to everyone.

I lead an association. How do we join?

Register on the association form on the Community leaders page. Associations join at no cost for their first 90 days, keep their name and independence, bring the benefits to their members, and take a seat in the European network and the Mutual Aid Compact. We write back to every association.

I am moving to another country. What happens to my membership?

It moves with you. One card is recognised across Europe’s forty-plus countries and by every regional house of the family: the Americas, Canada, India, China, Africa, East Asia and West Asia.

I would like to give my time. How can I serve?

With your time and with what you know: as a community ambassador in your city, an association liaison, an interpreter, a guide writer or a welcome volunteer. Tell us how on the Serve with us form.

What do you do with my personal data?

Personal data is handled under the GDPR, kept to the minimum needed to run your membership, and never sold. You may ask to see, correct or delete it at any time by writing to members@taseurope.org. The privacy notice has the detail.

How is this site related to the other Together and Stronger sites?

They are one family. There are seven regional houses — Europe, Canada, India, China, Africa, East Asia and West Asia — beside the first house in the Americas, Together and Stronger. TAS Member Services negotiates and runs the benefit programmes. TAS Foundation gives free first help and member support. TAS World maps every region.
